Remembering Nebraska Jack

Jack was a special horse in my life. I was part of a partnership who bought his momma Enjoy N My Lady in foal to Cantab Hall. Jack was the resulting foal.

Jack and Lady in New Jersey at 7 days old. I can remember the day I came up with his name. Sold him in Lexington as a yearling

The day I claimed him back at age 5. Jack immediately made a name for himself in London.

Legends Day at Clinton.

He burned up some Preferred races in London enough to be named Raceway at Western Fair Older Trotter of the Year in 2019

@amber.windsor88 spent a couple of years in a special relationship with Jack and this picis Amber jogging him this Spring. The pair made quite a team.

When the latest Covid shutdown came and @koe_nielsen came to Jack and offered him a new beginning to a legendary race career. Jack became a Racing Under Saddle natural immediately and Jack had a new partner to give him the same love.

When it became apparent they deserved one another the decision was made to make it official. That was a mere 2 weeks ago. Last night Karoline texted me with tough news for Jack. I immediately saw it as cruel and unfair news for Karoline. When she called me this morning to inform me that Jack lost his battle with severe colic, she was devastated. These horses are family to me and I’m not able to see them very often. For people like Karoline they are much much more. She is a special horse person and deserves to be happy with her career. I promise I will do what I can to make her smile again. In the meantime I thank all who were part of Jack’s care while he was in my life. Obviously Steve Bossence, Amber Windsor, Dan Guse, Troy Ratz and of course Karoline. May God bless Nebraska Jack. He can trot in the paddock with his momma who was also tragically lost this spring. #wewillbeback
